Leanne Topper Edges Thriller to Win Isle of Man Caliburn Women’s Classic

The Isle of Man Caliburn Women’s Classic produced one of the most exciting finals of the festival at the Villa Marina in Douglas, as part of the Isle of Man Caliburn International Darts Festival. The tournament, proudly supported by Caliburn Darts, L-Style, the Isle of Man Tourism Board and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, brought together a strong field of international women players competing for the prestigious title.

After a day of high-quality darts, it was Leanne Topper who emerged victorious following a dramatic final against Eve Watson.

Final

The final proved to be one of the most closely contested matches of the tournament. Topper averaged 66.16 and held her nerve in the deciding legs to defeat Eve Watson 5–4. Watson actually produced the higher match average with 69.94, but Topper’s timely finishing secured her the Isle of Man Caliburn Women’s Classic title.

Semi-Finals

Topper reached the final after a strong 4–2 victory over Vicky Pruim, producing an impressive 86.20 average in one of the standout performances of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Eve Watson booked her place in the final with a confident 4–1 win over Lorraine Hyde.

Quarter-Finals

The quarter-finals delivered several tight contests as the field narrowed to the final four:

  • Leanne Topper defeated Gemma Hayter 4–3 in a closely fought match

  • Vicky Pruim edged past Aileen De Graaf 4–3

  • Lorraine Hyde overcame Rachel Kingdon 4–2

  • Eve Watson defeated Rhian O'Sullivan 4–1 with the highest average of the round

Tournament Highlights

The Women’s Classic featured a strong international field competing from the Top 64 stage through to the final. Several players delivered standout performances during the event, including:

  • Gemma Hayter, who produced one of the highest averages of the tournament with 88.41 in the early rounds

  • Vicky Pruim, who reached the semi-finals with consistent scoring

  • Lorraine Hyde, who also impressed on her run to the last four

  • Eve Watson, whose strong scoring carried her all the way to the final

However, the day belonged to Leanne Topper, whose composure in the deciding legs saw her crowned Isle of Man Caliburn Women’s Classic Champion.
